Looking for something fun to do over Memorial Day Weekend (especially if the weather won’t cooperate for being on the lake)? Look no further than the annual St. George Greek Orthodox Church’s Ya’ssoo Greek Festival.

For three days, the festival will bring the vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors of Greece right to Bloomfield Hills. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Greek culture or just looking for a family-friendly weekend outing, there is something there for everyone.

Mark your calendars and dust off those lawn chairs. One of Waterford’s favorite family traditions is back. The Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce and Waterford Parks & Recreation are teaming up once again to bring you Moviepalooza—the ultimate indoor movie experience (major plus … it’s in the Yard’s dome so don’t worry about bad weather).

Whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly date night (have to make up for them gas prices) or a tolerable evening with the kids, this event has something for everyone. While the big screen is the main attraction, the fun starts before the opening credits roll. Starting at 6 p.m., the dome will feature:

Adult beverages and food available for purchase.
Giant inflatables for the kids.
Interactive activities and games.
Arts and crafts stations.
Concessions featuring all your favorite movie snacks.

2026 Cass Lake Fireworks Date Announced

The 2026 Annual Cass Lake Independence Day Fireworks are scheduled for Sat., July 4. Showtime is at dusk. It it rains, a makeup date will be announced.

Where to view: The fireworks will be shot off from barges in the center of the lake. You pretty much either need to be on a boat or at a private residence to view. Dodge & Marshbank parks aren’t open to visitors that late in the day.

How to donate: Donations are appreciated to fund the annual event and can be made payable to Cass Lake Fireworks, 3220 Erie Dr. Orchard Lake, MI 48324. Venmo to @casslake-fireworks.
